Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Images have been prepared for individual upload as an Image component type.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • Both the title page template and the full paper for blind review template have been prepared.

Author Guidelines

PREPARING THE PAPER

Text layout

Full paper (min 8 pages) should be written in English, formatted according to the template provided and submitted as a doc (or docx) file format. To ensure the integrity of the blind peer-review process, every effort should be made to prevent the identities of the authors and reviewers from being known to each other. In this regard the Journal of Architecture, Urbanism and Heritage uses two separate files:

Title

The style “Title” is assigned to the title of the paper. The “Title” style should be typed in 14 pt. Calibri bold and centered. Only the first letter of the title should be capitalized with the rest in lower case.

Authors and affliliation styles

Author names should be typed in 12 pt., Calibri, centered. The format for the names is First names then Last name, with a comma after each of the authors. Do not use academic titles.

Affiliations of authors should be type in 11 pt. Calibri. Please provide complete affiliations including position, company/university, country, and e-mail.

Abstract

The abstract should be approximately 500 words. It should clearly point out the objectives, methods, and conclusions of the work.

Keywords

List a minimum of 5 keywords in lowercase letters, in 11 pt Calibri

Bibliographic formatting standards 

The reference style should obey to the IEEE citation style (IEEE Reference Guide)

FROM REGISTRATION TO PUBLICATION (STEP BY STEP GUIDE)
Step 1 - To make a submission to the journal, you will first need to register a user account with a journal and log in (JAUH registration form)
Step 2 - Upload your paper as a new submission (for more instructions click here).
Step 3 - The paper will be send to the reviewer
Step 4 - After receiving the email with the decision after the reviewing process, login to your dashboard and respond to the recommendations of the reviewers The process ends when the revised paper and all the images are uploaded to the platform (for more instructions on how to respond to a review click here). 
Step 5 - The paper will not be send to the copyeditor
Step 6 - After receiving the email with the required changes which need approval from the copyeditor, login to your dashboard and respond to the recommendations of the copyeditor. The process ends when the copyedited paper and all the images are uploaded to the platform (for more instructions on how to respond to a review click here). 
Step 7 - The paper will be converted by the Layout Editor to the final format and published
